On Tuesday, November 18th, from 6pm to 8pm at Battery Gardens in Manhattan, OBT, New York City’s leading provider of job training and education services to disconnected youth, honored employers who have hired its young adult trainees over the years. Five employers received special awards in the following categories: Internship Site of the Year Award - Town Sports International; Career Ladder Award - Memorial Sloan Kettering; Longevity Award - Brooklyn District Attorney's Office; Rookie of the Year Award - IKEA-Brooklyn; Opportunity Award - Swiss Post Solutions “In difficult economic times, young adults are hit hardest as the labor market tightens,” according to Randolph Peers, OBT’s Executive Director. “We are very grateful, however, that our organization has such strong employer relationships that are have lasted through the best of times and the worst.”
