Adult Employment Services

OBT has a contract with Consortium for Worker Education to administer the Jobs to Build On (JtBO) program. This FREE service provides placement to eligible (unemployed, low income, etc.) individuals 18 and above.

Adult Education and Literacy Program

This program was launched in 2007 to provide ESOL, GED, and Pre-GED classes to adults in the communities we serve. We offer Pre-GED, GED, ABE, and beginning ESOL classes from our Bushwick site. Classes are free and are open to anyone living in New York City. Proof of citizenship is not required.

Classes have two cycles: Fall (September - January) and Spring (February - June). Anyone interested in these classes is encouraged to sign up now; space is limited.

Bushwick Workforce Resource Center

The mission of the Bushwick Workforce Resource Center is to facilitate greater access to education, job training, and employment services for the people of Bushwick, and to develop community partnerships that can provide additional support to local residents.

The BWRC serves over 1,500 local residents per year.

Partnerships: HealthPlus; Jewish Community Council of Coney Island; Catholic Migration Office; The Maura Clarke – Ita Ford Center, and others.

All Programs are Free of Charge!

Referrals are also made to local agencies for government benefits, health insurance, immigration assistance, vocational services and many many more.
