Youth Employment Training & GED (17-21yrs)
Provides a comprehensive course of instruction that educates and prepares young adults for the workforce.
20 weeks
2 cycles per year (September & February)

• 20-week clerical skills training, Keyboarding and Business English & Math also included
• Lunch & transportation stipend
• Certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist & National Retail Federation Customer Service
• GED preparation, if needed
Medical Administrative Assistant Training Program
The Medical Administrative Assistant Training Program (MAA) is a free based program that can provide you with the training and experience you will need to have a successful career as a medical administrative assistant.
10 Weeks
3 Cycles a year
Monday - Friday
9:00am - 4:00pm
• 10-week CMAA training, medical terminology and office procedures
• Internship in a medical office
• Lunch stipend & metro card provided
• Certification: CMAA National Healthcareer Association
Opportunity Knocks
(Young Adult Internship Program)

Provides paid internships to young adults who are not currently working or in-school. Priority given to residents of CD 1 & 4 (Williamsburg/Greenpoint/Bushwick)
16 weeks
3 cycles per year

• Workplace orientation/job readiness
• 11-week paid internship; wages provided by the City of New York
• Professional Development Opportunities, like Speed Networking and Public Speaking
Job Skills for English Language Learners
English language learners will be provided with advanced English courses as well as Employment readiness skills that will help them merge into the workforce.
12 weeks training in advanced job readiness and preparation
• 12-week training in advanced English conversation and job readiness preparation
• Certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist and National Retail Federation Customer Service
• Job placement assistance
Adult Basic Education
Provides Pre-GED, GED, ESOL & Adult Educational instruction to individuals 19 years of age and older.
20 weeks
2 cycles yearly
Day and Evening Classes available
Evening Classes starting at 6:00 pm
• Basic Education (BE), Pre-GED & GED preparation
• ESOL & ESOL job readiness instruction

Adult Employment Services
Provides core services for individuals who need assistance in re-entering the job market or who wish to change careers

Bushwick Workforce Resource Center (BWRC)
The BWRC serves as an extension to our Bushwick site. The BWRC serves the community by offering greater access to social services, education, job training, and employment services for young adults and adults in and around the Bushwick/Ridgewood community.
Office Hours
MON- FRI
9:00am – 5:00pm
Visitors of the BWRC will receive assessments to determine employment, educational and social needs. Appropriate referrals will be made to community based partnership organizations for services regarding: Adult Job Placement, Education and Skills Training Programs, Gov’t Benefits and Health Care.
Stay at Work Program (SAW)
Provides job retention support for the newly employed OBT graduate
OBT Sunset Park:
First Thursday of every month
Time: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

OBT Bushwick
Third Wednesday of every month
Time: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
SAW was designed to promote job retention by providing OBT graduates with a forum of peers to discuss and/or ease the transition to the workforce through group and individual counseling.
